Guinea: president pardons 312 prisoners

President Mamadi Doumbouya of Guinea pardoned 312 prisoners on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, through a presidential decree.

The pardoned individuals had been convicted of crimes including theft, aggravated theft, breach of trust, fraud, complicity in theft, charlatanism, and receiving stolen goods by courts across the country. The pardon requires the prisoners to complete a 30-day civic education program to prepare for reintegration into society. The Ministers of Justice and National Defence will jointly determine the details of this program.
