Native group expands services for children in Los Angeles

The So’oh-Shinálí Sister Project, a Native women-led nonprofit in Los Angeles County, is expanding its culturally-grounded education and wellness services for Indigenous community members.

The organization, founded to honor the founders’ grandmothers, provides resources rooted in Hopi traditions, So’oh meaning “grandmother” and Shinálí referring to a specific grandmother figure. The project aims to support the youngest members of the Indigenous community by offering programs that reflect their cultural heritage.
