Artist Elisabeth von Samsonow exhibits wood sculptures in Vienna

Elisabeth von Samsonow presented a retrospective exhibition of her art at the Heidi-Horten Collection in Vienna, Austria. The German artist and philosopher, who has lived in Vienna since the 1990s, focuses on wood sculptures, many of which feature horse motifs. Samsonow began working with wood sculpture after acquiring a fallen linden tree that no one else wanted.

The sculptures vary in style, with some appearing archaic and totemic.
