Teacher’s kindness reunites her with former student

In Singapore, Dino Isaac, now 30, located Teresa Lee, his Primary 3 teacher, to thank her for believing in him during a difficult childhood marked by abuse and homelessness.

Isaac grew up in a children’s home and felt a strong connection with Lee, who nurtured his musical talent and made him feel valued during her time at Jin Tai Primary.

Lee, now 44, admitted she had considered adopting Isaac but was not in a position to do so at the time. Their reunion was featured on the show On The Red Dot, which focuses on reuniting people with influential figures from their past. The episode resonated with online viewers, garnering over two million views and 2,000 comments on YouTube as people shared stories of teachers who had impacted their lives.

Lee’s support extended beyond the classroom, as she provided Isaac with food, looked after him when he was sick, and encouraged him to pursue his talents. The show also featured Leticia Peh, 23, who found Muslichah Abdullah, her former domestic helper, in Kudus, Indonesia. Peh discovered that Abdullah, now 56, lived a modest life after dedicating years to caring for Peh and her family, including her sister with Down syndrome.

Abdullah had even offered to raise Peh’s sister herself if her father hadn’t wanted to. Moved by Abdullah’s sacrifices, Peh launched a fundraiser that has already collected over S$11,000 to help improve Abdullah’s living situation and support her dreams.
