Nepal returns funds to savings cooperative members

The Problematic Cooperative Management Committee in Nepal returned money to 79 savers from six troubled cooperatives. Gorkha, Gautamshree, Shivashikhar, Ideal Yamuna, Oriental Cooperative, and Kantipur Cooperative.

The government clarified it used funds recovered from loan repayments to reimburse the affected savers. The committee first refunded savers with the smallest deposits, and plans to categorize remaining savers by their deposit amounts for future reimbursements.

Authorities continue to return savings to cooperative members from recovered loans and managed assets, following existing legal procedures.
