Mexico State provides support to over two million students

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the President of Mexico, and Delfina Gómez, the Governor of Mexico State, announced that 2.1 million students in Mexico State receive financial aid to continue their education.

The federal and state governments are working together to provide resources to 5,500 schools through the “La Escuela es Nuestra” program, which allows school communities to decide how to best address their needs.

The governments also offer several scholarship programs. 560,000 high school students receive the “Beca Benito Juárez” scholarship, providing 1,900 pesos every two months. Elementary students benefit from the “Beca Rita Cetina” scholarship, receiving 2,500 pesos annually, while secondary students receive 1,900 pesos bi-monthly plus 700 pesos for each additional student in the family. Beyond scholarships, authorities are expanding educational opportunities by building and renovating schools. They constructed 10 new high schools, expanded 10 existing ones, and converted 13 others.

They also plan to create 52 new Margarita Maza high schools and are building campuses for the Universidad Rosario Castellanos and the Universidad para el Bienestar Benito Juárez.
