California expands conservation efforts to meet 30x30 goal

California leaders and groups are conserving land and coastal waters at an increased rate, working toward the 30x30 strategy.

Thousands of Californians created the Pathways to 30x30 Strategy and then formed the 30x30 Partnership to put the strategy into action. The 30x30 initiative aims to expand conservation efforts across millions of acres of land and sea in California.

Governor Gavin Newsom announced the progress in the “Pathways to 30x30, September 2026 Annual Report”, expressing optimism for continued collaboration in the future.
