Uzbekistan reforms strengthen statehood and regional role

Over the past eight years, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as President of Uzbekistan, initiated reforms that reshaped the country’s government and foreign relations.

Mirziyoyev prioritised building a state focused on the needs of its citizens from the beginning of his term. These reforms touched many aspects of Uzbek life, including government operations, education, business support, and social welfare programs.

The government focused on more than just changing rules, also working to improve how state institutions function and build trust between the government and the people it serves. Uzbekistan aimed to become more open to international engagement and a dependable partner to other countries in its region. These efforts strengthened Uzbekistan’s position as a country and helped it establish itself on the international stage.
