Author revives legacy of forgotten Czech painter

Vladimir Prokop, a publicist from Sokolov, Czech Republic, discovered information in foreign literature about Franz Gruss, an important painter and sculptor who lived and worked in the Kraslice region.

Prokop learned Gruss was a notable artist during the interwar period and his work extended beyond the local area. The author’s research brought attention to Gruss, who had largely been forgotten.
