Joe Namy, a Lebanese artist living in the United States, installed his sound work Cosmic Breath in central London.
The installation uses recordings of the adhan, the Islamic call to prayer, from various locations and times. Namy created the work for Ibraaz’s Musalla, a space in London dedicated to spiritual practice and artistic expression. The piece features multiple speakers, similar to those on mosque minarets, each playing a different adhan recording at the same time.
